About

Julie Peatling Interiors is a Johannesburg-based interior design and décor company specialising in residential interiors.

I received a National Higher Diploma in Interior Design from the Technikon Natal in 1992, and, after working for Architects and Interior Designers for several years, I decided to start my own business in 1999.

Julie Peatling Interiors offers a personalised interior design and decoration service. I am committed to understanding and interpreting the needs, wants and aspirations of my clients. My work ranges from re-designing individual rooms in a home to designing entire properties.

My passion for design and décor is the driving force of my business.

My objective is to create environments that suit my clients’ lifestyles. It is all about stylish, comfortable, user friendly, harmonious, desirable living.

My core values are: SERVICE, INTEGRITY, PROFESSIONALISM AND EXCELLENCE

House Illovo

A young professional couple (he a Senior Architectural Technologist and she is in marketing), approached me to help with the revamp of their newly bought home. It is a three-level apartment in Illovo, JHB.

From the outside, this apartment block had very little architectural merit but my clients could see the potential inside - they had both the knowledge and vision to see that that it could be turned into a stylish city home, plus its location in one of the city’s prestigious suburbs was great.

Included in the brief was a request for interiors that would suit both partners. They wanted a mix of solids with pops of colour and prints in the living areas and preferred something more neutral but stylish in the main bedroom. All they brought from their previous home was the grey corner suite and raw wood coffee table.
